My Diffuser Is Offline
Step 1: Update your Pura app to the latest version
Errors and diffuser connectivity issues are often caused by an out-of-date app. Updating to the latest version clears up most problems on its own.
Open the App Store or Google Play, search for Pura, and tap Update if it appears. Then reopen the app and check your diffuser.
Step 2: Check that the diffuser is receiving power
A Diffuser Offline message can appear when your diffuser has been unplugged, disconnected, or has become unresponsive. Confirm it still has power:
Press the reset button once, briefly. If the diffuser lights up, it’s receiving power.
Make sure it’s plugged into an outlet that has power. If that outlet is dead, move the diffuser to another outlet and press reset again.
Step 3: Adjust your WiFi settings
If your diffuser won’t stay connected to your internet, you may have a WiFi compatibility issue. Pura diffusers are not compatible with these settings:
Hidden Networks
Networks requiring a username
Additional security features
If any of these apply, your WiFi network provider can help you make the changes your diffuser needs
Step 4: Move the diffuser closer to your router
Moving your diffuser closer to your router can improve its connection strength. Ideally, keep the diffuser within line of sight of the router, avoiding obstacles like walls and furniture between them.
If a clear line of sight isn’t possible, that’s okay — just get it as close as you can, then retest.
Step 5: Hard reset your diffuser
If nothing above worked, a hard reset gives your diffuser a clean start. Follow the steps in the guide below to hard reset your diffuser.
