Evergreen in Snow: A Scented Tribute to the Majestic Bristlecone Pine

Evergreen in Snow, part of an exclusive collaboration between Pura and the luxury fragrance brand Scents of Wood, is inspired by the evergreens of the Rocky Mountains in Utah—and one specific tree in particular. The collection itself is a “love letter to trees,” with each scent carefully crafted to create a deeply evocative fragrance experience. 

This luxury fragrance is an olfactory ode to the Bristletone Pine, an enduring symbol of the strength and majesty of nature. The tree grows slowly over time, reaching a thousand feet high. Its hardy nature helps it thrive in unwelcoming climates, and the twisted, resinous wood trunk looks like a sculpture shaped by the passage of time. Bristletone Pines can live for thousands of years, but despite their longevity, the trees are now threatened by disease and climate change.

To help preserve these precious trees and accurately convey their beauty, performers turned to NaturePrint™ technology, which helps them capture and recreate scents from nature without destroying the environment. To capture a scent, the perfumer places a glass globe over the area of interest, like a pine needle. A thin needle is inserted into the globe, holding a special fiber that absorbs the surrounding scent molecules over the course of an hour. Once the fiber has collected the full aroma, it is stored in a refrigerated box to preserve the scent and taken to a lab, where it is analyzed by a machine that breaks down the scent into molecular data. This helps the perfumer recreate each and every nuance of the scent, including the atmosphere around it: the snow, sap, and mountain air. 

Evergreen in Snow opens with crisp green and lush citrus notes before settling into a heart of snow, icy floral notes, and Limber Pine NaturePrint™ technology.
