Impact at Pura
Feb 27, 2026
At Pura, social impact is not a separate initiative or a box we check once the business is built—it’s part of why the business exists in the first place. We believe beauty carries responsibility. That what we create, how we source, and who we partner with should all contribute to a more just and sustainable world. Fragrance is our medium, but people, communities, and the planet are the reason.

Our approach begins with a simple conviction. Lasting change does not come from surface level solutions or short term fixes but from addressing root needs and strengthening the systems that allow people and communities to thrive on their own terms. That kind of change requires patience, humility, and a willingness to follow the lead of those closest to the work. We are not interested in performative impact or one-time gestures. We are committed to durable, community-led change that can adapt and grow as needs evolve.
This belief shapes both the partners we choose and the way we show up alongside them. We work with organizations that are tackling inequity at its source and building pathways that endure long after any single contribution is made. These are partners whose models recognize that progress is holistic, interconnected, and deeply human. From the beginning, we chose depth over scale, quietly forming a small and intentional circle of partners working at the intersection of education, economic opportunity, and equality.

Our partnership with Malala Fund reflects a shared belief that education is foundational to freedom and opportunity. Malala Fund does not simply advocate for girls to attend school. They work to change the systems that keep girls out of classrooms by supporting local educators and leaders, influencing policy, and investing in long-term solutions across communities facing conflict, poverty, and gender discrimination. Their work is rooted in trust, local leadership, and the understanding that girls themselves are powerful agents of change when given access and opportunity.
As our partnership with Malala Fund has grown, we have looked for ways to show up more fully and invite our community into the work in a deeper, more human way. This next chapter goes beyond financial support alone. By introducing the Pura x Malala Fund Collection, we are adding a new dimension to the partnership that uses our craft to help tell a wider story, spark curiosity, and build connection. Fragrance has a unique ability to transport people, to open hearts and conversations, and to make distant realities feel personal and present. Through this collection, we aim to raise awareness of Malala Fund’s work with girls and local leaders around the world, while building a global community grounded in the shared understanding that education is a human right and the belief that education is freedom. In addition to Pura’s annual investment in Malala Fund, 8% of net revenue from the Pura x Malala Fund Collection will be donated directly to support their mission.

Our work with the K Farmer Dutjahn Foundation is grounded in deep respect for Indigenous leadership, culture, and land stewardship. The Martu people of Australia’s Western Desert have cared for their Country for tens of thousands of years. Through the Foundation, they lead efforts in cultural preservation, sustainable land management, youth development, and economic self determination. This partnership is about honoring sovereignty, supporting Indigenous led solutions, and recognizing that environmental sustainability and cultural survival are inseparable.
After years of partnership, we launched the Pura x Dutjahn Collection as an extension of these shared values. Created with the K Farmer Dutjahn Foundation and Dutjahn Sandalwood Oils, the collection is rooted in the ethical sourcing of sandalwood guided by Indigenous knowledge and stewardship. For the Martu people, sandalwood is sacred, tied to Culture, Country, and Community. Our commitment extends beyond responsible sourcing to supporting community led development that invests in education, cultural preservation, and pathways to economic mobility defined by the community itself. This work reflects a deeper truth. True sustainability is not only environmental, but also social and cultural, protecting both the land and the people who have cared for it across generations.
Through our partnership with Year Up United, we support a model that directly addresses the opportunity divide facing young adults who have historically been excluded from economic mobility. Year Up United pairs technical training with mentorship and access to real career pathways, grounded in the belief that talent is universal even when opportunity is not. Their approach works because it treats people as whole humans and builds systems of support that lead to lasting economic stability, not just short term employment. We are actively working with Year Up United to help them scale their model and expand their impact.
Across all of our partnerships, the throughline is clear. We invest in organizations that understand complexity and are willing to do the slower, harder work of systems change. Organizations that elevate community wisdom, prioritize long term outcomes, and measure success by multi-generational impact rather than quick-hit outputs. We learn as much as we contribute, and we are honest about the fact that meaningful progress requires listening more than leading.
For us, social impact is not about claiming credit. It is about shared responsibility, and positively using our platform, resources, and creativity to support those already doing the work to help bring broader awareness and engagement when it can truly serve the mission. We believe business can be a force for good when it is rooted in values, accountability, and care for the interconnected world we all share.
This is the work we are committed to. Not because it is easy or marketable, but because it is necessary. And because we believe that when done with intention and integrity, even something as simple as scent can help connect people to stories, communities, and futures worth protecting.
